Had an awesome awesome time last night.. it was our OCF girls nite in.. while the guys were at the Redline Men's Conference learning to be bettter men, we had our Fairy night.. wooo.. the girls were all dressed up like fairies.. so cute and sweet.. some sophisticated.. =) Man.. it was a night to remember.. my living area was so nicely decorated.. candles everywhere.. wine glasses.. dim lighting.. balloons and streamers.. so beautiful.. and we really self-indulged like mad.. with strawberries and chocolate, with marshmallows and kiwi and bananas, and sparkling juices and fruit punch...

Worship was awesome too =) It's like singing with the choir of angels.. then we had dinner and photo taking sessions.. and then played games and more phototaking sessions.. and then the guys came!! They pleasantly surprised us man.. one group walked in first, playing guitar and singing 'Beautiful One'.. and another group came in with gifts, a mug with our names, with water and litted tealight candles! SO sweeeet.. then then sang another song which one of our guys wrote, while we girls just sat down with our hearts melted and goo-ing over everything.. it was so funny.. and sweet at the same time =) They also made us bubur cha cha.. man.. where do u find guys who are so nice to women nowadays? People who appreciate and love and respect and pamper their sisters in Christ! This shud be an example to the world =)

OH WELL.. *slap* back to real world.. no more fairy mode! Have to study.. exams are like in a week.. and i havent even gone thru half my stuff! Grrr.. BUT i choose to smile and trust that He'll pull me thru again.. God, thanks for wonderful people that u surround me with.. thanks for the peace that guards my heart! Love You!!

Friday, May 20, 2005

Being in the frontlines was never meant to be easy Peggen.. who ever said it was easy? Who ever said it was safe? Who ever said it was glamourous? Who ever said u'll feel good?

Nevertheless, i still CHOOSE to stay in the frontlines.. i CHOOSE to be excellent and follow my leader, Jesus, who has called me in this place to lead.. To die first in the war.. To fight for Him and His people.. i CHOOSE to glorify Him despite how i feel and what i see.. thats our ultimate purpose on earth anyway! Make Him known! Let His glory be seen!

*smack* Back to the real world.. ahha.. i'm ok lar.. i'll be fine.. just moody moody cuz stress stress.. i think... i hope its jsut the exam thing.. sighhhhh

Sunday, November 21, 2004

Guess whaT?~ I'm so into DDR now man.. been playing it since.. weds.. but have to return to Nigel tonight already But i really had very much fun!

Went to Otway Estate, its a winery.. and they have cottages there, so
we (Stacia, Rachel, Phoebe and me - my housemates) stayed in this 4ppl
cottage.. so huge and beautiful!! It's self-contained and they have
like spa and everything there! Wahhh.. so nice.. we stayed there 2
nights and we din even step out of the cottage.. though the spa wasn't
working.. some fuse blew or something.. so they gave us like 4 FREE
bottles of port We cooked our
own meals, had candle light dinner and bbq on the other.. well, if u
could call it dinner.. we weren't even hungry the whole 3 days there..
cuz we just kept eating and eating and eating.. so we couldnt tell if
it was dinner or lunch or breakfast! But i'm not sure if we did put on
any weight.. cuz we were DDR-ing.. then again, we also watched movies
and sleep and read magazines and books.. so funny.. we went there only
2 nights but we packed our stuff as if we were going for a lonnnnng
time!

It was a good time-out for me.. very much needed one.. refused to think
about work or OCF or uni or anything in particular.. think i should do
that more often.. but then i'd probably be living in self denial.. i so
dreaded to come back to clayton.. but oh well, had to!

Anyway, going back Penang this Weds midnight.. mixed feelings about
it.. dun really know if i wanna be back there.. Jason's not going back
for one.. and i haven't exactly been spending much time with him..
well, except last nite where me and him, jess and daniel kong DDR-ed
till 230am..

Going to get stuff from Chaddie for grandma and some other ppl who
requested me to get stuff for them.. feeling sleeeeeepy again,.. just
woke up 2 hours ago eahehahea.. oh well!

Woooo! I dunno man.. this exam period is REALLY getting to me.. pretty much stressed out and kinda feeling overwhelmed with the stuff thats been thrown to out to me.. studies, ocf, family, frens.. its like whoaaa.. i REALLY have to take things one step at a time or i'll never be able to make it till the end!

Yesterday i just woke up with a bad headache, and neck aches and body jsut felt like blood not flowing.. know how that feels? Well, dunno how to explain.. yeah and tried studying the whole day but i just couldnt concentrate and nothing could get in.. so i decided to do groceries and bought food to last me for....... hopefully 2 weeks, but then again, at the rate things are going, it'll probably finish like.. in a few days time! Yeah so then evening was OCF, and i had TONS of funnnnn!!! Really really enjoyed my time last nite with Qana cell group. Was not with my cell cuz the committee was rotating cells, and it was really really refreshing and encouraging for me personally! Just seeing people step out and serve, and share and just being themselves just made me realise that i so really do LOVE seeing ppl grow and be built up to be who they're meant to be!! AHHHHhhhhh.. so yea,,

This morning had to wake up early cuz had Vic Chair meeting - that's where the EXCO and Victorian Chairperon of each OCF center comes together to meet, share, pray, plan etc.. 10.30am til 2.15pm!! By the time i got back, had to rush to eat my instant noodles and then rush off to kooronggggg

Bought a BOX full of stuff.. ehhe.. yeah too mafan to fit into plastic bags so just put in the box la.. anyway, Nik paid for all of us first, cuz we hadthe 30%discount thing.. and the grand total was $1050 or something.. before discount.. and only 6 of us went.. and out of 6, 3 of them bought one item, 3 items and 6 items respectively, and one bought one plastic bag full, and me and nik bought like one box full each.a. hahaha.. so ya.. u go figure how much i spent.. eheh.. but no la.. spent alot on gifts for cell leaders - for Thanksgiving.. so technically its OCF expenditure, not mine..

Anyway, went straight to church after that, and came back to eat dinner cuz intended to studyyyyy.. but was so tired, planned to sleep at 9pm til 6am then wake up study, but well.. Nik came over.. talked til about half an hour ago.. so yeahhhh.. whole nite i've just been saying i'm so tired and wanna sleep OR study but ya.. both also din do.. so there goes my 2 days of non-studying... ishh! Tomoro have to PIAAAA!!!

Better go sleep d la.. oh oh oh oh oh! GUESS WATTTTT?! Alvin Tjipto gave me THE bible that i wanted to buy!! He so sweeeeetttttt.. its a gray/red duo tone italian leather cover.. and its thinline compact bible!! I wanted to buy that at koorong today cuz i tot got discount and since my little bible so 'chan' already, the covers dropping off, and the pages falling apart....good thing he gave me at VicChair meeting! Heh, thanks ALVIN!

Saturday, October 16, 2004

Tired.. absolutely draineddddd!

yes.. Shaun's finally here.. haven't done much actually.. arrived Sat
afternoon, had lunch, slept, went church, dinner.. went over Jason's..
came back mum and dad called, then looked at some photos with him.. and
slept about 4am..

Next day,
Sunday woke up about 12pm.. then went for lunch in Boxhill and did a
lil bit of shopping.. nothing much to see la cuz it's sunday and most
shops are not opened. Then he came back and sleep again.. tell me, is
he a pig or a pig? Sighhhh.. Today i went to uni, told him that i'll be
back at 1 then we'll go have lunch in LaPorchetta (cuz apparently, he
said that the one in Tassie isn't nice at all.. ).. and i called him at
115pm, and guess wat, as me and mum guessed, he was still sleeping!!
When i got back, he ran to the bathroom to get ready!!! WHAT IS
THISSSS... then after lunch, we went to do some grocery shopping.. and
me and stacia were telling him that the Asian Grocery Shop is like our
heaven.. ahaha.. cuz there's nearly everything there.. as in the things
that we would easily find in Msia.. And finally, he said the same thing
too.. but there was only one thing missing, according to him.. and
that;s a bed! Sheesh..

Tell me.. is he a pig.. or pig?

All
he's been doing is eating and sleeping... and watching movies or doing
something on the computer. OR on the phone... He's been spending SO
much money on food.. i was just saying that i saved so much money since
beginning of the year, and he's going to spend it all in just 11 days,
at the rate he's going!! Sighhhhh..

But
its good having him around.. haha.. cuz i get to mother him.. it feels
kinda nice being able to mother someone.. well, that is provided i've
got money la.. so, so far so good... plus i get to scold him too!
Hehhe.. and also get to use his PowerBook.. :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ADOPTED into His family..

ANYWAY..
wanted to share something i've learnt since.. Weds.. just wasn't really
able to do it yet.. we did a BS on Our Assurance as Sons of God last
week.. focussing on

Romans 8:14-17
"..
because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you
did not receive a spirit that makes you slaves again to fear, but you
received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him, we cry "Abba, Father". The
Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's childen.
Now, if we are children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs
with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may
also share in his glory."

I did NOT receive spirit that
makes me slaves AGAIN to fear.. but i received the Spirit of sonship..
I have been adopted by God into HIS family.. and it made me think about
the whole adoption thing.. i mean if u think of it in today's context,
more often than not, ppl would feel that being adopted means that u're
not wanted and u feel rejected and all that negative emotions.. but it
is so UNTRUE.. well, if u look at it from another perspective.. lemme
explain..

You know how nowadays a lot of parents tell their
kids that they're an accident, or they didn't plan to have them.. and
stuff like that? You see, even legitimate kids can be 'not wanted' in
that sense.. but when someone's being adopted, the ppl who are adopting
actually MAKES that CHOICE to adopt u! Meaning that an adopted child is
not and can never be an accident in the family.. they KNOW wat it means
to be adopting a child, they know WHO they want to adopt.. and they
CHOOSE to make that decision.. and to think that GOD has ADOPTED ME
into HIS family.. whoa.. its like a really WHOA thing for me.. i don't
know how it makes YOU feel.. but it makes me feel extremely SPECIAL,
and LOVED, and WANTED.. i mean GOD CHOSE ME.. GOD WANTS ME.. GOD LOVES
ME,,, gosh.. of cuz. .that applies to u to, if u'd accept Him.. Read
on..

F.F. Bruce explains the term "adoption as sons" in the Roman world of Paul's day:
"In
the Roman world of the first century AD, an adopted son was a son
deliberately chosen by his adoptive father to perpetuate his name and
inherit his estate; he was no whit inferior in status to a son born in
the ordinary course of nature, and might well enjoy the father's
affection more fully and reproduce the father's character more
worthily."

WOW.. and i mean WOW.. think about it.. and think
about what being adopted into His family means to u.. we are His
children.. means we are heirs... heirs of God and co-heirs wih Christ!!
Wahhhh.. we have what Jesus has.. WAHHHHH.... awesome awesome dun u
think?

Thursday, September 02, 2004

Life is tough.. but God is good! Nah.. not complaining about my life.. it's not as tough as i may think sometimes.. and yes, i go thru a lot.. i've really been stretched this whole year.. especially this semester but that is ONLY because Jesus loves me! He wants me to become like Him.. and i have indeed committed my life to Him, to be His disciple, His follower.. and yup so i'm glad to be REFINED... fire's hot.. but without it being hot, the impurities will not go!

Went Koorong today with Jason, Cheryl, Jamie and Eunice.. didn't buy much.. just 2 books.. 2 easy-to-read books.. not really thick.. and it was cheap.. $6.95 and $7.95, excluding 10% off. This the first time in a VERY long time since i've stepped into Koorong and boy, i do really missed it! I can spend like hours just browsing thru the bookshop.. ahhhhhh.. heaven! I really, really do love and enjoy reading but haven't really had the time to. Been buying books all these years, but haven't been able to finish reading all of them of course.. but still that hasn't stopped me from buying ahhaha! Will get more when we have the 30% discount! Heh!!

Went Chaddie afterward, had Hungry Jacks for lunch.. it was really fun just being able to enjoy the company of good, crazy friends who just makes u laugh all the time.. and of course Jason never failed being himself.. funny, entertaining and mm..cute God has just been blessing me so much with awesome awesome people around and about me! I AM SO BLESSED! Thanks God!

Yeah.. but didn't get anything. Wanted to get a pair of shoes cuz my Nike's like so torn and worn out.. the hole is so big now that its too obvious even if i wore the same colour socks... but as usual.. indecisive and always thinking that i'll be able to get a nice and cheap pair back home, i didn't get anything. Oh, bought a yoyo for Dominic though.. it was only $4.99 for a normal yoyo, with a CD that teaches like 30 different tricks. I thought that was impressive, but when i told Nick only, he wasnt totally enthusiastic about it.. but its ok la i guess.. $4.99 haha..

Ahhhh.. my heart so pain cuz i was so careless, reversed my car into a pavement lamp thing, which made 2 deep scratches and a little dent in it! It's ok i guess.. i'll just go fix it sometime soon.. when i change my tyres, which i was supposed to do 2 months back!

Smsed mum about Shaun coming over, told her that he'll be here 11 days and stuff like that, and she replied saying good, because she thinks that he really needed a break, asked me to cook good meals to feed him and fatten him!! Hahah.. well Shaun, u better give a good report, whether or not my cooking is good! I already told them that u're coming.. since u refused to do that, even when dad called u!! Sheesh! But ahhhh.. i'm really looking forward to spending some time with him.. i miss my brothers..

Was just reading their blogs, and i really am proud of them.. so proud of how they're living their lives for Him who created us.. and just being themselves! Very matured boys if i can say.. but i really feel that i want to be with them. I mean i'm thinking, here i am saying that i know God's calling me to build up and encourage people.. and i think i am doing that.. but what more.. i really want to do that with my OWN flesh and blood brothers! I want make a difference in my own family first.. then everywhere else.. i want to be able to encourage and support and just be close to them more than anything and anyone..well.. with certain exceptions.. ahaha.. no la. but yea.. i guess being the eldest, i do have to take the initiative to find out what's happening with them and call them and all.. rather than always giving excuses that i'm busy with so many other things.. and why do i always have to be the one calling.. why can;t they call first blabla.. but guess what?! Jesus said in Matt 28 " GO, and make disciples of all nations...." its a proactive word.. it means to take initiative.. i guess it applies

.. i'm learning.. still learning.. will never stop learning...if i ever, please God, smack me!

Thursday, September 02, 2004

Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this
statement meant about the character and nature of God.

One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study. That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought
again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver."

She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.

The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do
you know when the silver is fully refined?" He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it."

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Wednesday, September 01, 2004

BRRrrrRR...!!!
